Mansions On The Moon has been on somewhat of a release rampage recently. With single after successful single hitting the internet at a pretty steady pace over the last couple of months, we wouldn't be surprised if all you HD readers out there are itching for the full-length project to just come out already. This latest single, "The Truth", is very much in line with what they've already been putting out, but instead of toning it down like they did on "Where You Are", they've amped up their synth-pop influences for maximum effect, and as a result, have made the track unabashedly '80s in style. There's a ton of bounce to the production work, and while they've moved towards different areas of sound within their signature style, this is very much the one that fully embraces the band's bright and cheery side. The intro on "The Truth" is relatively metered, but it soon opens up with a couple synth lines that take this song from 0 to 60 in no time at all. As the music settles into its paces, you're left with the impression that Mansions have really nailed their sound down to a science (though we understand their penchant for sonic exploration, too). It's extremely fun to listen to, the new track is, though, and they manage to keep things from getting too flippant despite the songs total commitment to its pop roots. In any event, these guys have really grown as a band in the past year, and "The Truth" is the perfect way to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
