Videos with slick cinematography and fancy edits can be cool, and we've certainly been known to enjoy our fair share of the types of artsy videos that take themselves rather seriously, but every once in a while, a music video comes along that is legitimately fun to watch and totally out of left field. These are the best kinds of videos, and Mansions On The Moon has just released one, much to our delight. When their single, "Somewhere Else Tonight", came out about a month ago, we absolutely loved the song, but if you asked us what we thought the video for it might be about, we could have never guessed right. The last thing we expected was to see two dudes travel dimensions Bill and Ted-style—saving the magical princess by cutting off the hands of a technicolor Visnu/Ganesha hybrid with samurai swords—and yet, that's exactly what it is, and we can't get enough of it. There's not much more to say about this one other than we strongly advise you to watch it and not take it too seriously. As it stands, it's probably better to think of it as a short film that just so happens to have a really cool soundtrack to it, because as far as we can tell, trying to find some sort of connection between the lyrics and what's greeting your eyes is pretty tough. If you just let go and enjoy the show, though, you're in for one of the most entertaining videos that's come out in a while.
