Maybe it's time to properly acknowledge Russia as the next hot bed for up-and-coming acts? I mean, when you think of Russia, music definitely does not come to mind, so maybe for that reason alone, it's ripe to change some minds. We've featured some Russian artists on HD, but they have mostly been producers. Today however that is changing because we are delighted to pass along on to you the indie-pop sounds of Mana Island from Москва, Russia. Just a few months ago they released their debut singles, "Beauty Spot" & "Sunbeams Are Alive". It's safe to say they have remained hidden for now, but hopefully we can change that today. Their sound is lead by melody driven vocal cadences that mesh nicely with the pop-driven instrumentation. Plop these guys anywhere in the US and you would never know they were from Russia.
