There are a few things that are clear with Made In Heights. Firstly, their music possesses this angelic quality that just seems intrinsic to all efforts put forth by the duo that is comprised of vocalist Kelsey Bulkin and producer Sabzi (of the Blue Scholars). There's hardly any ever fluff or filler on their tracks; they've musical majesty in and around their glowing sound. Also, they're never going to spell out anything for you in regards to what their subject matter entails. Kelsey is adept at lyrical abstraction, and her messages remain as mysterious as they are beautiful. The task of taking meanings away form each song, then, is one left solely to the listener, and the options are to try (usually unsuccesfully) to figure out what each song means, or to just listen while you fade in and out, picking out a line or two here and there and attempting to incorporate it into your own train of thought. It's obvious that Made In Heights makes their music for the dreamers who like to dream, and it's songs like their latest, "Pirouette" that accentuate the particular intellectual endeavoring. As for what you do with this song, that's up to you. We're just excited to have new material from the duo to delve effortlessly into.
