With their run of two EPs in 2011, Made In Heights made one of the biggest impressions on the music world with their genre-bending brilliance. Led by the production of Sabzi (Blue Scholars) and candy-dipped vocals of Kelsey Bulkin, Made In Heights left anyone who was blessed enough to hear their music in an enchanted haze for the better part of the year. However, since the release of their works, the duo has been relatively silent as far as new music goes. After catching word from a friend, though, we heard Sabzi was recording new Made In Heights material in LA with Kelsey during the Summer. And for us to say we've been waiting for new MIH material would be a severe understatement. Serving as our reintroduction to what will be music's best up-and-coming act is the brand new single, "DEATH". Rather than following suit off the feeling induced from the word, Sabzi creates a whimsical backdrop of drum & bass influenced breaks, alluring choir-layered synth pads, and the occasional piano fills to accommodate the sensual vocals of Kelsey, who displays a kind of writing that has our head spinning in intrigue and adoration. [do action="manual-block-quote"]"....the galaxy is spreading like a rumour in your jaw"[/do] As "DEATH" is only the start of what's to come (we hope), it's best to expect more news from the duo as far as whether or not they will be releasing a new EP or entire album anytime in the foreseeable future. While we all bask in anticipation, though, we'll make sure to have "DEATH" streaming in the background.
