During the era of Gangsta Rap in the early 90's, Mack 10 was very popular with his counterparts Ice Cube & WC as the Westide Connection. Back in 1997, Mack 10's sophomore album, Based On A True Story, was one of the most played albums during that year. Back then everyone had that cd and constantly played tracks like, "Mack 10, Mack 10", "Chicken Hawk II", "Backyard Boogie", "W/S Foe Life + many many more. He then went on to release a few more solo albums after Based On A True Story but they never really touched the quality of BOATS. However, in 2002, Mack 10 released his compilation project, "Mack 10 Presents Da Hood", that showcased him with all his up and coming rappers. The huge standout on this album was the classic track, "Please". It features one of the best/crude chorus lines of all time.
