If it's dreamy, syrupy R&B you're searching for, New Zealand's MAALA's work is your best bet at finding something worthwhile. At this point, the act has extensive material released, and, today, he's dropping a full-length album in Composure for us to enjoy. We've been keeping a close eye on his material for quite some time now, and, while keeping the emotional part of his sound intact, he does embark on a bit of a new sonic endeavor with the body of work. Previous single "Kind Of Love" signaled this change, and throughout the project, its quite evident that he fully embraces a more powerful, radio-friendly sound. His previously released singles work in harmony within the full-length, but the new standout cuts seem to be "Lose Your Love" and "Feel So Right". In respective order, one is an edgy, sultry roller coaster ride of a tune, and the other is a dazzling, groovy pop track. So, while different in style, the two radiate originality and quality and are both worth checking out.
