M.I.A.'s music is unconventional as it gets, and as "Swords", the first track from her new album, Matahdatah, shows, being straightforward or easily accessible for her is not the norm. However, as we all should be aware of now, her sound is completely her own, and beside the fact it may take a few listens to digest this new effort of hers, we're thinking that it'll grow on you. "Swords" is also taken from M.I.A.'s just-released two-track audiovisual project, Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than a Border ("Warriors" is the other track), and you can check out the video for it all below.
