Lyza Jane — Wilderness

Lyza Jane

Wilderness

Lyza Jane may just be another one of those names who's on the verge of hitting it big with her music. Right now, she's not attracted much attention, but that's not because her music isn't great, and we'd be willing to bet that it won't be long before she starts turning some heads. "Wilderness", her latest, is a beat-driven piece of dark indie-pop, but she's done a great job differentiating her sound from the rest of the genre's pack by making good use of guitars and squeezing out as much of that silky power in her voice as she can. The intro starts off slow, and for a couple seconds it's easy to get worried that the song is destined to remain underdeveloped for the entire runtime, but right before that starts to happen, she completely switches it up, launching the piece into a full-bodied melody that will absolutely blow you away. It's always nice to come across names like Lyza's that haven't yet gotten the recognition that's due to them, discovering the hidden gems in their catalog along the way. Her work has a depth to it that not only makes this post warranted, but will keep you captivated from start to finish. [via Breaking More Waves]
