Lüthian — Sara

Lüthian

Sara

It was around the first quarter of last year that we came across Vancouver singer and producer Lüthian who gave us a lot ponder over debut pieces “In Between” and “Soon". Unfortunately, since that time, we were devoid of any new material from the artist, but today, she's ended her nine-month sonic break with the highly immersive, nostalgia-inducing track entitled “Sara”. Paying obvious homage to Fleetwood Mac’s track of a similar name, Lüthian works to refurbish the original vocals to her liking while also letting her production prowess ride gorgeously alongside. Flawlessly mushrooming chords set her version's great tone on its onset, and as her feathery vocals steer through what ingenious electronic touches she provides, the piece ruptures with a flavor packed with ideal pitch-shifting segments, euphoric saw waves, and cherished hats. Lüthian doesn't let her piece here follow a cliché sonic course whatsoever, but instead allows it to breathe quality through and through. It's pretty remarkable to hear what she's done with the material she's worked over, and if more interpretations like it arise in the future, you can bet that she'll see her name a lot more prominent online and off.
