Lasers is an diverse album when you consider the different styles incorporated on the album. While the music stays rooted in hip-hop you can find dance floor hits, truth anthems and synth heavy production that allows lupe to rip it. Lasers shows a great balance between the raw/truth and the pop/commercial appeal that rounds it out on all fronts. To think that Atlantic Records was jerking Lupe around with releasing this album! There is a place for these labels and their purpose but its the deeply disconnected people that run them are at fault.
