Lupe Fiasco is spot on every time he makes brash statements about society or world affairs. For anyone who is consciously aware of all the bullshit and lies we are fed constantly about wars, terrorism, false democracy...etc — hearing Lupe put these realities into music is such a relief. With this daringness to speak out against the status quo will always have the repercussions of ignorance coming back at him 10 fold, so you really have to understand why Lupe is contemplating retiring from rap. Personally I really don't believe that he will retire from rap; I think its more of a move to keep himself away from the clutches of the cult music industry at the very top that basically turns musicians into slaves. As a fan of Lupe I hope he does not retire because his voice needs to be heard.
