Nowadays,we're met with so much music on a daily basis that it's a wonder how it must feel for artists who are trying to get their music out there. Unfortunately (and perhaps fortunately), not everything will be heard; it's the best of the best that will always rise to the top, and when it comes to new artists creating R&B music, Brighton's Louis Mattrs is one artist we can envision rising up over the rest. Last year, the singer-songwriter released his debut EP, Beachy Head, on MTA records. We unfortunately missed it completely, but after running through it once, it's clear that that was a big mistake, because the five-track body of work is on a must-hear level. We were led to Louis' music today by his newest track,"Oops x Wus Good", that really personifies his sound to tee. The song is a cover of sorts that sees him combine Tweet's old-school 2002-released track, "Oops (Oh My)" with PARTYNEXTDOOR's "Wus Good", and, as far as the nature of the kind of tracks go, this one's definitely creative. More than that, though, it's the way Louis Mattrs really just commands the track that's got us excited; his vocal tonality is silky smooth, and his adjustments overall render familiarity with the original irrelevant.
