While we haven't heard much from Dutch producer shak. for almost two years now, it's hard to forget the pluck-heavy electronic sound he gave us, as he finally now breaks his silence with "Just Us", the first track from his newly launched duo, Lost Canvas. We had a quick word with shak. about it all, and, according to him, the new project is one that he's doing with a good friend of his in order to lend a larger focus to the vocal front. It's an "extension" of shak., he says, while noting sonic similarities with a jut a bit more diversity added in. The quote above is certainly exciting for any fan of shak.'s music, and "Just Us" is more than expressive of his sentiments above with the vocal effort on the track adding soulfulness to shak.'s style that we love so much. The jazz-laced, polished background is a perforating one, and it reminds us of what we missed from the Netherlands' resident in addition to what we can now look forward to with his new artistic partner in crime.
