Not long ago, Lorde was another 12-year-old listening to music and singing along to her favorite songs. The difference was just how well she had been singing said songs. Her capacity to stun vocally shone through a particular talent show at that point in her life, and by the time she entered and exited high school only a few years later, she was an international pop sensation. And so if you're thinking a Cinderella story here (minus the oppression), join the club, because her hyper ascension into stardom is about as fanciful as they come. The only difference here is that, unlike the magic characterizing the former's rise to prominence, Lorde's will not being going anywhere at the strike of midnight. After occupying her producer's (Joel Little) studio shortly after the release of her debut EP entitled, The Love Club, Lorde went to work diligently on what is now (and will be) her defining debut album, Pure Heroine. And it is within her perspective of life, one replete with the ability to see through the veil of reciprocating fakeness found in pop culture and society today, that leaves Lorde singing with a spectacular voice, offering relevant messages in tantalizing fashion.
