London Grammar — Strong(er) (ZHU Remix)

London Grammar

Strong(er) (ZHU Remix)

This is technically a remix (despite the alteration to the track's title), but ZHU and London Grammar both are experimenting with different collaborative formats, and since either is known for thinking outside the box, musically speaking, it only seems fitting that their sound would venture off the beaten path for "Strong(er)". What's not new, however, is how good the music is. London Grammar has always been a favorite here at Hillydilly, and Hannah Reid's voice is always welcome on a track. ZHU probably feels the same way, because he's gone about this remix in all the right ways, really paying homage to the original track while still injecting own signature flare into the mix. He could have gone a a lot darker with this, like the music on his EP, or our freshly posted bit on his remix of Lana Del Rey's "West Coast", but that probably wouldn't have fit very well with the original track's soft production work. Instead, ZHU's opted to play up London Grammar's laid-back style of indie-pop, and as a result, we now have a track that's both chill in all the right ways, and refined in its execution.
