Darling Are You Gonna Leave Me (LCAW Remix)

It's hard to not like London Grammar. Hannah Reid's voice has been one of the bigger pieces of news to come out of the indie music world in the last couple of years, and almost every song the trio has produced to date has eclipsed the success of its predecessor. With that in mind, the three have attracted their fair share of remix hacks who think they can "improve" on the sparse beauty of “Wasting My Young Years” and “Strong”. There are, however, a few that have been able to do the art justice, and LCAW, a German producer from Munich, can definitively claim membership in that select group. His version of London Grammar’s track, “Darling Are You Gonna Leave Me”, is indie-house to the core, but the composition pays tribute to the analog aesthetic that the original had nailed to perfection, and it doesn’t drown out any of the subtle undertones with brash synth chords or cheap aftereffects. No, this remix has all the right pieces to get people moving, and it doesn't for a second sacrifice any of the quiet power and emotion in the original. It's a very, very solid release from LCAW, and will be a great addition to his already strong back catalog.
