Lolawolf — Drive

Lolawolf

Drive

Lolawolf’s inaugural track, “Drive,” is a specimen of quiet confidence, the likes of which are not normally found so early in a band’s career. The meandering synth melodies and methodical percussion hint at a musical maturity that most artists have to work up to, releasing track after track, before finally coming out with material that achieves a certain level of understated polish. Ignoring convention, Lolawolf seems to have nailed it their first go-round. Their success, while impressive, is not particularly surprising. The band’s production is handled by Jimmy Giannopoulos of Pretty Good Dance Moves, and their lead singer, Zoë Kravitz, has quite the musical pedigree as well. Her dad’s name is Leonard, you may have heard of him.
