When's the last time you've heard a female emcee attack a track with the kind of grace that Little Simz displays on the recent remixed effort of her "Leave It As That" single? I'm going to guess that it's been a while, whether or not because of our limited ears, the gender's limited participation in the genre, or some kind of combination of the two. The particular reason doesn't really matter though, because when you hear the British artist start rolling with the rhymes, you start to think more about the art that the origin of it. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that she is able to recruit the talents of MeLo-X and THURZ to help assist with the lyrical acrobatics appearing on the snappy track.
