It's been a while since I've had the time to really kick back and dive head first into a solid evening of music discovery, so imagine my surprise when the first song I go to check out happens to be the beautiful, floating, effortlessly stunning debut track, "Hide" from Australian trio, Little May. Little May is clearly aware that first impressions matter and have come out swinging. While their debut is indie-folk through and through, there's something extra lurking below it all that really is so much more than the genre would typically have to offer. A lot of people overlook folk as being too slow, too subdued, too...folksy. Fortunately, we have artists like Little May to come along every once in a while and remind us just what greatness the genre has to offer.
