This one is going to be big. Lil Silva has already made his mark as a credited producer on BANKS' track "This Is What It Feels Like", and his EP, Distance, was a thing of beauty, but there's something about this single here that just screams success. Maybe it's the low-slung synth lines that pulse and buzz their way through the track, or maybe it's BANKS' strikingly clear voice juxtaposed against the rough-hewn sonic backdrop, but whatever it is, it's got our attention, and will almost certainly get yours too. That being said, when you hit play, don't be dissapointed by the rather understated intro. Yes, we already talked this one up, so you might expect the music to hit you across the eardrums right from the get-go, but, in actuality, this one takes a few seconds to warm up. Be patient, and you'll be aptly rewarded, though, because when the drop finally does come in, it's all gold from there on out. In retrospect, too, it becomes apparent that the intro was perfectly timed so that the real focal point of the song could catch you unaware and crank up the energy to maximum effect. Lil Silva is one of those names that's accomplished a lot already without technically "blowing up", but if there ever was a track that could finally push his name over the edge and into the abyss of stardom, it might as well be "Don't You Love". People seem to be getting tired of the harsh sounds in big dance music that tug too aggressively your emotions and leave your ears raw, and the drop in popularity of genres like dubsteb seems to be reinforcing this. Lil Silva has sort of filled that open spot with a new style of music that is much softer around the edges, but just as emotional and impactful as about anything out there right now, and his bit with BANKS here reinforces the notion that it's a sound work keeping around.
