It was only last week that we first acquainted ourselves with the sounds of Swiss six-piece Len Sander, and we've been smitten ever since. Given that their debut single, “Black Bryony”, was released back in April of 2014, you could say that we were somewhat late to the party, but that's a mistake we won't be repeating today as we feature the release of their follow-up single, “Ungrowing”. From the song's opening bars, we're immediately taken back to the atmospheric dusk that was captured so perfectly in “Black Bryony”. What unfurls from there is a theatrical renaissance of trip-hop artistry with sounds akin to Massive Attack and Portishead, and even the frantic cymbal crashes throughout hark back to the golden age of UNKLE when DJ Shadow was still attached. Truly, it is an incredible achievement for this band to capture and implement with perfection the spirit of a genre that obviously means so much to them.
