If you're a frequent visitor of Hillydilly, you might be familiar with Laura Welsh and Jakwob. Both UK artists have previously been posted on the site, though neither has made an appearance in 2014, until now. Now, before you're given a collaborative product, you never really know how it's going to turn out. However, it doesn't take a genius to predict that Jakwob's powerful production will complement Welsh's inspiring vocals to excellent effect, and on their new track, "Betrayal", that's exactly what occurs. Jakwob decided to begin the song with soft, somewhat dark piano alongside Welsh's compelling vocals, and from that decision the track proceeds to grow, including hints of percussion and vocal harmony that each push the effort forward. Before you know it, a bell sounds, triggering an epic influx of trumpets and strings in the chorus. Jakwob's production radiates power, as does Welsh's stunning vocal performance, and the track takes on an immense sound as a result.
