We don't try to downplay our excitement about Laura Doggett. Her deep, powerful, majestic voice has quickly established herself as one of our favorite upcoming female vocalists, and her debut effort, "Phoenix", landed a secure spot on our "Top 25 Debuts of 2014" list. A few producers have been able to recognize the fact that Doggett's distinct croon is ideal for remixing, and two of them make up the HD-acclaimed, UK-based duo, Bodhi, who have decided to put their own fantastic twist on Doggett's new single, "Old Faces". Bodhi has become widely known for their deep blend of house music, but rather than simply put a low-key house spin on the original here, they experiment in the realms of downtempo and chillwave, and the result of their efforts is outstanding. By seamlessly implementing unique percussion, smooth synths, and plenty of additional layers, Bodhi has created a very impressive display of creativity that falls far outside the norm for house-oriented producers.
