Laura Doggett stunned the music community when she let loose her debut effort, "Phoenix", which acted as a striking introduction to her incredibly idiosyncratic vocals. We haven't heard a croon as simultaneously deep, powerful, and tantalizing as hers since, perhaps, London Grammar's Hannah Reid, yet each artist certainly has a different style. It helped, too, for Laura to have a little sonic assistance from SOHN on the track, but now, two months later, she's ready to retread her success with a new single, "Moonshine", that provides a new, lovable angle to her sound. The track immediately instills a glossy feel, and this results from the implementation of a gliding soundscape, some echoed piano chords, and a subtly oscillating synth. Laura shines like a star atop the instrumental behind her, and we really hear her embrace her distinctively sweet, ever-warm, and entirely full sound. We're impressed with the traits as we were with them on her preceding effort, and we know Laura's more of the commanding musical magic to share in days ahead.
