Upon first hearing Låpsley last November, we knew right away we were hearing something special. What started with her debut and independently released EP, Monday, was later followed up with with her most successful track to date in "Station", and then "Painter (Valentine)". Each effort was an incredible, heartfelt offering illustrating how amazing Låpsley's vocals and production talents were. The Liverpool-based vocalist is still only eighteen, and with that fact comes increasing improvements as she perfects her craft over the course of her career. With an already-impressive resume, Låpsley's already a highly regarded musician, but now with her latest track, "Falling Short", we're hearing that aforementioned improvement in action, as you can really hear the maturity in her voice now. Whether because of better production behind her or not, her vocals power unequivocally through the mix, and perhaps for the first time, we're hearing her promise reach a new high on what is truly a mesmerizing ballad. There's no question Låpsley is destined for big things after hearing this track, and we've no doubts you'll find her a contender for the Mercury Prize in the next few years.
