LANY has been a steady fixture at Hillydilly since we found one of their early singles, "Walk Away", a couple months ago. Since, the trio has surprised us all by proving that they weren't just a flash in the pan (as, unfortunately, so many are), but rather, legitimate stars in the making with a style that has transcended their early releases and has grown into a full-fledged signature sound. It's a sound that not only separates LANY from the hordes of other hopefuls, but also makes them very marketable for prospective labels (whether or not that's who they've their attention directed towards is another question). The thing about LANY, though, is that while they indeed make music that is catchy, the three go about their sound in such a way that emphasizes the substance that's also there in large quantities. When you listen to a LANY track, there shouldn't be any doubt in your mind that you're listening to pop music, but with that said, there should also be the sense that what you're hearing isn't the fake, over-engineered junk that is purpose-built to be readily accessible to the casual listener, either. As it just so happens, tracks like "Walk Away" and "ILYSB" (former efforts of the trio's) are so well made that they end up generating widespread appeal anyway, but it's nice to know that they're earning their popularity by honest means, instead of aiming for the lowest common denominator. With so much going for them at the moment (at least, on the perceptive surface), the impending success of this latest release of theirs, "Made in Hollywood", shouldn't come as a surprise—but it's still perfectly fine to get a bit excited about it, because, frankly, it's one of their best tracks yet. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that one of the band's biggest strengths is the driving beats that gives their music a sense of constant flow, and, though difficult to perfect, each and every song of theirs has this quality in spades, making listening to their music both relaxing and invigorating simultaneously. "Made in Hollywood" is probably the best example of all this so far, and it's undoubtedly going to get you anticipating whatever they've in store for their next release.
