It’s a big day for house producer Lane 8, whose debut, house-laden album Rise has finally hit the web. We’ve seen remixes and originals time and time again from the solo deep house act that’ve helped turned our attention to the genre, and now we get a full body of work with which to explore. Among the new works, our favorite cut is “The Great Divide"—one of the more groovy tracks of his that hones in on some of his classic sounds that we’ve come to love before. With the virtually unknown Ara Scott on vocals, Lane 8 chooses to use a deeper synth structure to give him a more potent instrumental backing, and, together with their contributions, we see it attain a fresh, light house vibe.
