There's a fine line when it comes to determining the quality of a pop song that's fitted within the genre's downtempo realm. Just because something is meant to be gorgeous-sounding doesn't mean that it intrinsically is, and, while a lot of times you can hear the efforts to take it there, most often, they're simply just not good enough. "Waiting", a five-month-old track from German artist LAINA, however, is not one track that's fallen short of its goal. She really did nail the effort, and her vocals on the track are obviously the focal point of the piece (the production is pretty poignant as well). Not only is everything here admirable for its sheer beauty, but there's a slight raspy tone, too, that gives her centered timbre that much-desired unique touch. LAINA is an artist you need to have on your radar because of all this stuff, and you'd do well to head on over to her SoundCloud page to give her a follow and keep track of what she's next in store.
