When we first heard La+ch’s new release, “Nights,” we knew we had a quintessential electro-pop hit on our hands. The undulating synths and high-pitched shouts throughout conjured up immediate comparisons to M83 (always a good comparison), and really, the entire effort of his and Dustbuster's (another artist on their sideways label ["sideways" is the name of the label]) exuded an impossible-to-miss attraction from beginning to end. Now, we're aware that the sideways boys (the tight-knit artists on label) are always up to something artistic (they've an EP expected to be released in the next month, in fact)—so you can bet that our sights will be ever-set on whatever material of theirs next graces our ears. If any of it sounds anything like "Nights" here, we'll be in for another post involving the two talents.
