Receiving it's premiere on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio show as the "hottest record in the world", earlier today, is the second single, "Uptight Downtown", taken from La Roux's forthcoming sophomore album, Trouble in Paradise. Stoking the pot was the slow-burning first single "Let Me Down Gently", but now here to up the tempo is the disco-flavoured, funk-infused, and horn-laden "Uptight Downtown", that finds lead vocalist Elly Jackson at her best, as she matches the energy of the toe-tapping production with her rollicking vocals. If it's polished, and upbeat pop you want, "Uptight Downtown", is going to be your new favourite, and will furthermore provide substantial anticipation for the album release that falls on July 7th.
