La Roux will return after their lengthy five-year hiatus with the release of their highly anticipated sophomore studio album, Trouble in Paradise, that will likely see the duo match the success of their debut based on the promise of lead single, "Let Me Down Gently". The new offering is a lovelorn-themed ballad that finds Elly Jackson serenading her vocals over an '80s-themed synth divertimento that promptly displays their affection for such soundscapes. And while we're not sure what the rest of the album will sound like come July 7th, based on what we're hearing here, it's safe to say La Roux will be experiencing no sophomore jinx.
