Melbourne-based duo L W K Y has dazzled us with their leisurely paced, delicately concocted electronic on a consistent basis, and with their latest effort, “Feeling”, it’s evident the two are continually maturing their already-adept production approach. Having Wrenn on the vocal front on the piece further thrusts her rise as an artist, too, as the LA-resident's poignancy illustrated is one that’s hard to replicate. Zoë (Wrenn) instantly stirs up an ethereal undertone at the onset, and quickly makes way for a massive saw-heavy drop that's filled with pitched cuts and hard-hitting percussive elements. The breakdown certainly sees the vocals in the spotlight, but the addition of rising, revitalizing synths shouldn’t be looked over, either, as they thoroughly bathe the setting and increase the emotive character overall. The latter end of the track is certainly what most look forward to, and it doesn’t disappoint, with crafty supplements making their way in and propelling the piece just a bit further, wonderfully so.
