So often we music bloggers run off comparisons when we come across new artists. And yes, you can call it cheap commentary if you'd like. The thing is, we're in the business of getting peoples' attention, and so when we continually compare new artists to other, more established ones, we are simply trying to grab the focus of someone who may not ordinarily explore the particular sound. So please don't think we're lazy when we compare Kyson's absolutely stunning voice on, "Shadows Cross", to Justin Vernon's own.
