Kwamie Liv — 5 AM

Kwamie Liv

5 AM

We're always amazed here at HD by artists' ability to continue crafting unique tracks within a genre. The trend of downtempo electro-pop is currently flourishing, mostly because of how greatly innovative the works within the particular genre are. Today, Kwamie Liv's first appearance on HD is made, and it's very much a result of how incredibly inventive her "5 AM" song is. At first listen, the track might come off as somewhat odd; however, if you open yourself up to her unusual sound, breathtaking beauty reveals itself throughout the entire effort. Perhaps the most distinct aspect of Kwamie Liv is her vocals; her soft croon is ambiguous, sometimes sounding melancholic, other times sounding apathetic. Her use of auto-tune and electronic material in the chorus evokes visions of "neon lights" against an infinitely dark night. The haunting choir, downtempo bass, and mellow synths also contribute to the song's distinct feel, and we recommend you check it out below. [via P&P]
