When someone takes on a SOHN-produced track and the vocals of one of the prime soul artists out, we've a cautious optimism we wield prior to our listening, but Felix Joseph has shocked us out of all skepticism with his impression of Kwabs' “Something Right”. It’s only been three days since the release of the soul artist’s sophomore EP, but already, Felix has offered a completely contrasting vibe to the original (while keeping in mind the fact that the vocals of Kwabs are best left in their pristine condition). With absolutely no intention to top the original, Joseph’s improvising style makes the piece an unearthly experience, and he implements a hefty bass backdrop and countless signature inclusions as the track progresses. He transitions from keys to sax seamlessly, and then adds in some plucked strings over one evocative chorus to send out truly sultry vibes.
