At this point, we don't even expect to know who it is we're listening to when we turn on a track, or album, or whatever. Artists are getting less and less informative as it pertains to themselves, which is fine, but it is nice, if not merely satisfying, to see the whole background of their sound. It gives a tangible connection to the music and increases our appreciation for it, since we've an actual, humanistic image to associate it with (rather than some random skin-showing woman or surreal landscape). Regardless, it's the sound we stay for at the end of the day, and no matter how intentionally or unintentionally anonymous an artist is, we're going to gravitate towards him or her (or it [we've seen robots making music before]) if they've the sonic goods. Now, all of the above applies to ktbfu, a name you're surely not familiar with up to this point, but once you listen to "Slurpy", one of his latest tracks that comes from his Springtime project, you won't care. His brand of electronic is spacey and interesting, and those facts are pretty much enough to warrant a listen by themselves. Vocal cuts, layers upon layers of synths (some shivering [0:43], others, long-sustaining in the background), and other typical, effective instrumentations coat the effort. It's one that will remind you of other artists we've before posted, but we think there's just enough authenticity here to keep ktbfu in the future fold.
