The first time we were graced by Louise Cunnane's (Blooms) brilliance was six months ago when she released her debut single, "Skin", which was shortly followed by an even more astounding effort in "If I". Both were taken from her debut EP (one you'd do well to listen to), but now, Blooms has announced that she has greater plans in the work, specifically, the launch of her very own label, Skin On Skin Records. Today we're getting our very first glimpse into her project through the first new artist to release on the label, Kobina. Hailing from Dublin, Kobina is a 25-year-old producer who's already been releasing music for over a year, though, all of his sounds have pretty much flown under the radar. However, that's about to change completely, because he's masterminded an airy and absolutely beautiful ballad in the form of his newest single, "Touch", which features the tantalizing vocals of Blooms. We're drawn in at the very beginning of the track by some alluring synths and sensual vocals, and from there, one simply can't resist the song's intriguing, somewhat exotic charm. Fresh percussion and hard-hitting bass contribute some flow to the track, which contains subtle vocal chops constantly fluttering about the sonic background, and as the song progresses, a whirlwind of electronic rolls through and switches the beat up, bringing with it more synths, percussive layers, and interest on our behalf. To say that we're just impressed with Kobina's production on "Touch" would definitely be an understatement; he's executed the somewhat minimalist approach in "Touch" excellently, and the song has left us excited to hear more from him, and also see what else Skin On Skin records has for the world.
