Walls To Build

We first posted about Melbourne duo Kllo a couple years back with their debut EP, Cusp, which was released under their original moniker, Klo. We revered the indie-pop effort as something quite special (and still do), and we noticed that, this year, with the new name, they brought upon a more electronic-oriented sound. With their potent second EP, Well Worn, we're hearing it in full bloom. “Bolide” was our first glimpse of the new project, and, as it folded electronic into chopped slabs of vocals we’d only heard drawn-out before, we were pretty sure that a stunning project was indeed taking form. With the EP’s full release today, we know that that is the case, as they've tacked on tracks like the dreamy “Walls to Build”, and the chilling, low-toned “Don’t Be The One” that elicit a mood not far from that of their first body of work. From top to bottom, Well Worn is simply impressive, and, as it does surely depart a bit from the poppy sounds we were accustomed to from the act, it reminds us just how well-rounded the pair really is and may continue to become. Stream Well Worn on Spotify now.
