I came across one of the tracks off Klimeks' Overnites EP about a month ago, completely oblivious to the fact that it was a part of the greater body of work released today by the UK producer. I'm certainly thankful to have had the artist resurface in my conscious, though, because his new project is nothing short of impressive. "Tokyo Train" kicks the creation into motion with a twinge of foreign flair, incorporating electronic nuances that sound like they were shoplifted straight from a Buddhist temple, and a wave of lightly treading, sensually spreading synths come to wash over the remainder of the mounting track. A pair of exciting efforts follow with "Flight '03" and "Nite Cruise" which each work to convey similarly effective, yet markedly different sounding attitudes on Overnites. The former's ambiance remains intoxicated from the sonic influences embedded within "Tokyo Train" and extends the Eastern aura into the following "Nite Cruise" creation, which we love equally. "Breathe" and "NorthernLites" ensue and work to conclude the EP in empowering fashion. There's what sounds like a sample from Zelda on the first of the two, and it's embedded perfectly within the remainder of the bassy, synth-laden instrumental that we've had on some type of replay regime. "NorthernLites" rounds out Overnites with terrificly tamed synths of its own, and a host of breezy, electronical aspects assist in culminating the stunningly coherent affair Klimeks so judiciously put together.
