Kita Alexander has a particular sound down, and it's one that is very, very good. It's breezy, carefree, summer-themed, and feel-good, and, perhaps as a result, it's relatively bulletproof. The sound doesn't lend itself to being repugnant to anyone for any reason at all, and, though some could write that off as her being "safe", to anyone outside of a critical sphere, it's just a joy. From her debut body of work that we're sharing here, we've heard already the title track and "Plain Sight" as well, but now we get two new efforts to bask excitedly in the glow of. Those two tracks, "Wild Heart" and "High Tops", continue Kita's airy, relaxed, ultra-cool aesthetic without dropping off quality or sounding repetitive at all, and that's really quite a feat. Like You Want To, as a result, is a compact and extremely consistent listen throughout, and we hope in our heart of hearts that more like it surface from the budding beach star soon.
