Kilo Kish first appeared on our radar last year with her mixtape, K+, and then later with her collaborations with Chet Faker, George Maple, and Kwes on "Gripp". Since those releases, Kilo has remained relatively quiet, and, without much of a warning, the LA-based artist just released her second EP, Across, that sees her back with her longtime collaborator and producer, Caleb Stone. Whereas most of Kilo's previous work was electronic-led, this new EP takes the more organic route with the inclusion of guitar work, giving some of the songs an earthy, low-fi feel. With tracks like "Wrong", you can hear this new direction and how well it works, but on songs like "On The Way", we find Kilo absolutely at her best, as she sings over the see-sawing, electronic-backed melodies that Caleb so brilliantly supplies. The tracks together will be able to shake up your current music rotation (in the best of ways), so definitely look to the EP as a whole to satisfy your desire for that new, intriguing electronic indie-pop.
