Kid Cudi — Confused

Kid Cudi

Confused

This isn't the supremely idolized Kid Cudi of yesteryear, but it is the Kid Cudi that has evolved and become as authentic as any artist out (not that he wasn't before). Since his rightfully acclaimed first few albums, Mr. Scott Mescudi has ditched the synths and electronic sounds for a more organic one leaning rock's way, and, with nervousness, anxiety, and excitement, fans and those generally intrigued with his sound have been bathed in perpetual anticipation regarding all his new work. Today, we finally get a glimpse of all he has been working recently toward. "Confused" from Cudi's forthcoming album, Speedin' Bullet to Heaven, is a new taste and artistic chapter in the eclectic artist's life, but, far from being a disappointing sonic foray into new land, it's a surprisingly great entrance into a more simplistic, honest, and utterly passionate sound that's right at home with the Cleveland-born rapper-turned-rocker. We're treated to some freshly traditional guitar on the effort, fitting vocal inflections, and perfect lyrics to match the ambiance of the track as a whole, and, altogether, we're given every reason in the world why we should be as excited for his forthcoming work as we were for all that now behind us.
