When you pour over as much new music as we do, you start to see certain artists cropping up multiple times with featuring roles on different releases. It is wonderful, then, to finally see that artist break away from that collaborative position and begin to release music on their own, such as with Missouri’s own Khai. We’ve followed his featuring roles with electronic duo Bronze Whale, and, more recently, with Boston producer Samuel Proffitt before he finally graced us with the first single, “Do You Go Up”, from his debut EP. Now, Khai is looking to expand his repertoire with the spritely sounds of second single “Into The Dark”. "Into The Dark" is decidedly a more lively turn for Khai with its bustling synths and striking percussion samples flickering above a darker lyrical undercurrent, and it shows promise of a rich diversity when it comes time to release his new EP.
