There really seems to be no time limit between the release of Kendrick's debut album and the never-ending release of remixes regarding his material. Of course, the aforementioned efforts have to be done right for proper attention to be afforded to them and the individuals behind them, or else it's just going to look thirsty on the producers part trying to piggyback on Kendrick's success. For this remix of Kendrick's verse from The Game's "The City", this is no quench for thirst, because as we all know, 20syl of C2C has already paid his dues and needs no introduction. Though the obvious additions of edgy filter sweeps, aggressive percussion hits, & turntablism grant life to this interpretative effort, the remix really kills it during the second verse when 20syl sends Kendrick's voice through a voice effect box that sounds like it was smashed with a hammer. You may hate it or love it, but the point is that this is different, and for that reason alone, 20syl has our attention with this remix.
