Since Kendrick's career defining debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city, the rapper has gone on to become one of the biggest artists in the world. That was two years ago, however, and it's about time for a new album as we've been feeding off features for the last couple of years. The long-awaited follow-up is right around the corner, we're sure, but while we wait, we've now its first single, "i", to listen to. The song has been building anticipation for well over a week now, and for good reason, too, as The Isley Brothers-sampling track leaves no room for disappointment. The upbeat, continually evolving track features a chameleon-like Kendrick who molds his raps around each beat pattern, changing his voice as he goes. There's quite the difference in style here on the single compared to his previous efforts on good kid, and we're absolutely loving it.
