It's really quite incredible to consider the consistency of Hush Hush's material. They're not a large label (not yet), and they've only a handful of artists to their name (right now), but judging by their recent releases, it seems that they've all the attributes necessary for what creative sounds they've managed to steadily supply us with. Keen on adding to the artistry is newcomer Keenya, an electronic producer from London whose debut work While Everyone Sleeps will see an October 22 release from the Seattle label. The project, remarkably intricate for a first, features four original tracks and two remixes, all of which carry Hush Hush's iconic introspective vibes and deep sound textures, the kind complimenting late nights and early mornings. With "Surfacing", one of the originals from the work, we witness wonderfully the expression of the aforementioned characteristics. On it, Keenya utilizing a deep synth and serene vocal samples to convey an exotic, enrapturing atmosphere of sound that proves thematic throughout the entirety of his attractive efforts on the project. And given the alluring soundscape he provides, we're confident that his name will continue to expand in terms of excellence, relevance, and recognizability.
