When Australian five-piece band Snakadaktal disbanded last year, we questioned who would fill the gaping musical hole that was drilled by the group's absence, but now with a second release from their vocalist and guitarist, Sean Heathcliff, who's gone out on his own under "Kagu", we've more than an artistic backup in place. "Human" is this second offering of his, and what a great next chapter it is for the man. On the track, Heathcliff spreads his wings, showing us that he's not only the ability to produce a downtempo offering (as in debut track "Shadow Of The Wind"), but also a more traditional alternative tune, too. The choppy nature of the contained guitar riffs in "Human" here is paramount to the success of the sound found, and with the combination of those and Heathcliff's simply lax vocals, we've an effort that proves to us Kagu has already been a success. "Human" is the first single released form Kagu's debut EP—a body of work slated for release in early March.
