Torontonian duo K.I.D popped into existence a little over a month ago with debut song "i wish i was your cigarette", which displayed some serious potential for the act's "garage-pop" sound. Now, the pair is following up their buzz-accumulating single with a new one, "drunk enough to love me", a dark but excellent new effort that we believe tops their first. Bobby Lo (production) instills a rougher sound on the track by incorporating a muffled drum kit and some growling synths, but Kara Lane excels vocally in the new sonic environment. The track places the two far apart from the mass of glitzy electro-pop duos that are currently swarming the music scene, and by presenting a heavier topic such as being in love with a "fickle, alcoholic dick", K.I.D establishes that they are a team to be taken very, very seriously.
