Olivia McCarthy (JOY.) is not one to short emotion on any one of her tracks. They all ooze this kind of well-manicured intimacy that simultaneously reaches out to your heart and makes you lust after the imagery the sounds evoke, and we see here with "Weather", her third released single and second off upcoming debut EP Stone, that the trend is not being bucked. Beginning with soft and expansive synth pads, JOY. gives herself a delicate soundscape to deliver her heartfelt lyrics over, and some very well-fitting percussion, vocal manipulations, and other nuances come to aid the atmosphere "Weather" portrays. JOY. is becoming increasingly expert at fashioning these lovely soundscapes, and with news of forthcoming material coming after that alluded to here, even, we have several reasons to be excited about the elegant Brisbane artist.
